Known for their exceptional tone, quality builds, comfort, and amazing playability, we have a beautiful Lakand bass that checks all those boxes and then some! A high quality bass at this price point doesn't just walk down the street everyday. Especially these full scale 34" Lakland's. A wonderful hollowbody electric bass with super beefy low end output, exceptional tone from the Indian Laurel fingerboard, and this particular bass boasts a pair Bartolini MM pups for a superior rich, deep voice with lots of high-end clarity and warmth. When you dig in, they are responsive and growly. When you pull back, they are clear and sweet. And they'll take any slapping and popping you want to give them. Lakland no longer makes this awesome bass and opportunities to purchase one don't come around very often, so if you are the market for a great sounding high quality bass... this is definitely worth deep consideration. The body is mahogany with a beautiful Maple top, that features a classic single F-hole which pays homage to the instruments acoustic heritage.
Built in collaboration with master builder Michael Tobias, no detail, big or small is overlooked during the design, or the build process and must pass very vigorous quality control through and through before it ever touches your hands. And when you play one it is instantly noticeable that you are holding and playing a well thought out, and high quality built guitar.
The Lakeland Skyline Hollowbody receives the company's thorough stateside evaluation and tweakage. Renowned for the impeccable boutique quality of their Chicago-made basses, how can Lakland's overseas-made Skyline Series instruments meet the company's fanatically strict quality guidelines? Simple. Every bass - regardless of its country of origin - goes across the company's Chicago workbenches and through the hands of its US luthiers before being delivered to a dealer. Lakland makes sure they're completely happy with every bass before giving it a pass. You'll find that the playability, tone and overall quality of Lakland's Skyline basses will meet - and exceed - your expectations.
But don't just take our word for it, here are some reviews from confirmed purchases of this guitar through Reverb by trusted community members...
"I love this bass. It plays effortlessly and has a big bottom end, especially on the neck pick-up. Comfortable curves and belly cut, neck to die for, and beautiful to behold. (Fess up: You know looks matter to you, too.)" -Jeffery T
"Once setup properly, this bass performed wonderfully. Many great sounds, deep and punchy. Lakland is for sure a cut above many and this is another perfect example. If you are looking for that deep hollow body sound, thumpylike and rich, this is an excellent choice. Lakland quality will never let you down!!" -William T
"I can tell you is that the neck on this bass is the best out-of-the-box-neck I've ever had... If this sounds like your kind of bass, snag them now because Lakland no longer makes them." -Roger W
This bass is in excellent condition, and is borderline mint, as we were unable to find any noticeable blemishes, dings, or dents. As well, we could not find any repair work that has been done, or needs to be done. The serial number is #06082099 which, in this model reads as YY/MM/XXXX. August of 2006 is the build date for this Lakland. Appears to be all original and in fantastic shape with open gear Hipshot tuners, 3 way pick up selectors, 2 tone-2 volume knobs, and a coil split toggle switch... and of course the OHSC is included as well.
